International Comment Leaving Week is June 21st - June 29th. I just added my blog to the Stirrup Queens blog list, but I'm not sure that I made it in time for June. I may have to wait to be on the July list since today is the 21st! This is what the author of Stirrup Queens wrote:
Welcome back to IComLeavWe. It stands for International Comment Leaving Week, but if you say it aloud, doesn't it sounds like "I come; [but] leave [as a] we"? And that's sort of the point. Blogging is a conversation and comments should be honoured and encouraged. I like to say that comments are the new hug--a way of saying hello, giving comfort, leaving congratulations.
Another blogger, Murgdan, inspired this post for me, too. She's using her post to find out more about the people who read her blog. So...
Who are you? How did you find this blog? Are you adopting, too? Leave me a comment and tell me a bit about yourself.
About me...I'm Wendy. I like to be creative - I love to paint, work on our house, scrapbook, and take photos. I don't know where I would be if I couldn't be creative in some way.
I am really lucky that I get to do what I love -- I teach elementary school students about...ART! Steve always jokes that he doesn't get drawings and hugs at his job!
I like to be outside. I love the fall - we were married in the fall, I love when it gets just a little cooler, and I love when the leaves start to turn.
I love making desserts - cupcakes, cookies, anything chocolate or with sprinkles! One of my favorite memories from when I was little was when Mom would make cookies (mostly for Christmas) and spread them out on brown paper to cool.
I like to write, so I guess it was kind of natural for me to start writing a blog. I started it because I was having such a hard time with us not being able to conceive. I had seen so many other blogs about the same thing and it helped for me to belong to a group of people who understood what I was going through. Three years later we're adopting domestically through an agency. We've been waiting 6 months, 1 week, and 3 days (but who's counting, right?) I love to read comments that people leave on my blog. It's nice to know that someone cares enough to read what I write and cares enough to give me their thoughts and opinions, too.
Well, that's about it about me, I guess. Your turn...tell me about you!

Hi there...and YUM for CuPcAkEs...I ate one last night for dessert, and I think it was the fresh buttercream frosting that made it so delicious.
Don't remember how I found you. Not adopting at this point--I'm currently on the IVF rollercoaster.
:-)
My husband and I have been ttc since October of 2007. Adoption is an option for us so I love to read your blog to learn more about the process.
I can't remember exactly how I found your blog (probably during a never-ending cycle of blog-rolling), but I love it! I've been rooting you on (albeit, silently) for a few months now.
The only chance for my soon-to-be-DH and I to have biological children is through gestational surrogacy, which we plan to jump into after our wedding (probably end of '09, beginning of '10). If surrogacy ultimately doesn't end up working out for us, we'll definitely pursue adoption.
I can't wait for you to find your match!
Who are you?
- Jennie
How did you find this blog?
- The nest
Are you adopting, too?
Hopefully! We are going through the process of foster to adopt.
Hello, my name is Sian and I'm infertile....... :-) I found you through ICLW. Best wishes for your adoption. We are currently trying to fall pregnant via Egg Donor IVF.
Hi! I found you through Google (I have a Google Alert for "ivf"). We're waiting to find out the results of our 4th IVF. We get one more try with insurance, and if that doesn't work then we're adopting (I have found a counselor and agency already.)
Hope you get your little one soon!
Hi...I'm Kristin. I'm not adopting but know many people who have. I found your blog through the ICLW blogroll. I love cupcakes too and baking of just about any type. I love your artwork (the painting with the cup is fabulous). My artistic side has been my sanity saver too.
I found your blog just from other people listing it. I am a birthmother and was interested in learning more about adoption from adoptive parents view of it.
I am a Mom to two boys and a caregiver for a 98 year old couple. I love animals wayyy too much.
Hi, I'm Mrs. Gamgee, and I found you through the ICLW list (working my way through from the bottom to the top this month). I'm not adopting, although we haven't written off the option yet. Currently I'm getting ready to have a hysteroscopy in an attempt to prevent any future losses. We are on a ttc break for the summer, but will be back trying in september.
Hi - I've just found you through ICLW! But we're hopefully adopting.
Thanks for all of the comments. :)
TTc Little Miracle - hope that you have success soon. If you decide to go with adoption at some point, feel free to email me. I would love to talk about it more if you want.
Meg - thanks for introducing yourself and for rooting us on.
skrambled - good luck! We consider doing a donor egg IVF, but decided that we wanted to pursue adoption instead.
Anon - I didn't know there was such a think as a google alert - I'm out of the loop! Good luck with your IVF.
Kristin - I recognize you from other blogs! Thanks for commenting and for the compliments.
Mrs. Gamgee - good luck with your surgery. Hope it all goes well.
nh - good luck with your adoption!
Murgdan, Jennie, and Birthmothertalks...thank you (always) for your comments and advice.
jaymee
found you through the ILCW list
i am adopted and we are creating our family through gestational surrogacy
Found you on the bump. Yep, we're adopting too. Glad to have found others to "enjoy the ride" with. ;)
I love this ICLW idea. lol
I started ttc three years ago, and after two years I began seeing an RE and going through the testing process and I found all these blogs and forums, which were so helpful emotionally, as well as for providing information about possible treatments. Last summer I was SO SO lucky to conceive after only a minor surgical procedure. We never came out in IRL that we were ttc. Since then, I've continued following your journey, and the journeys of so many other wonderful women, hoping and praying for you every day. I have a close friend who is going through the adoption process as well, and I've led her to your site. I do not consider myself a "real" infertile, just a grateful mom, and so I am very shy about commenting. But all of you inspire me so much. Wendy, I LOVE your blog and your artwork and your beautiful spirit.
I <3 cupcakes :)
I found your blog from the nest and ICLW.
I hope you get to meet your baby soon. GL
