The Daddy Book and a Christmas Gift in the Making

I just put Zoe in her bed for a nap, and we always do story time right beforehand.  She has a big basket of books to pick from, and she gets to pick out whatever she wants us to read.  This was her choice today:

It’s a great book.  Todd Parr is the author, and all of his book are really wonderful  He writes about all different kinds of families (perfect for adoptive families!)  I was excited that she pulled it out because we may have only read it once before, and I’m pretty sure she has never sat through the whole book.  She listened to the whole story today and had lots of comments along the way.  It was so sweet.

This is a ‘before’ picture of part of Zoe’s Christmas gift.  We have Mom2Mom sales around  here, and I was able to get this table and set of 2 chairs for $20.  It was a really good deal.  I am going to paint it so that it will coordinate with her little kitchen set.  I will post a picture when I have it all finished.  We’re also working on painting our living room this weekend, so the table may have to wait just a few days.  We’re going from a cranberry color in our living room to a light yellow – “warm summer.”  Fingers crossed that it looks nice when it’s all done!
