Today I was reading two different bloggers posts about 2011 and I thought I would write a similar update.
January 2011 - We started off the New Year with Zoe being sick and having a touch of pneumonia. She was getting very interested in books and was able to use a spoon and fork very well, too.
February 2011 – We had a lot of snow, we celebrated Valentine’s Day, and visited my sister out of state. We returned to home to find a furnace that didn’t work and had to be completely replaced, 11 more inches of snow, and that Steve had a heart condition (that we didn’t know he had had) and was going to need open heart surgery.
March 2011 – Steve had open heart surgery and everything went really well. We’re so thankful that he’s okay. (Zoe is holding his heart pillow in the picture below. The hospital gives you one so you can “hug” it as you cough to help ease the pain.) Zoe also had her first hair cut before Steve’s surgery.
April 2011 – Steve worked on recovering from surgery. He took a lot of walks to help the healing process and get his strength back. We also had a great visit with Zoe’s birth mom and her family.
May 2011 – We spent lots of time outside when the weather was nice. The other art teachers and I spent hours putting together our district art show –what a great night! (The pic on the right)
June 2011 – I finished teaching for the 2010-2011 school year. Zoe and I started our summer vacation. Steve went returned to work. Zoe went on her first train ride with my sister, Janice.
July 2011 - We took 3 trips – went up North to my parents’ lake house, flew to Las Vegas, and the three of flew to visit family and friends in New Jersey. We celebrated Steve’s birthday, Zoe went to her first friend birthday party at a gymnastics place, and we moved her into a full-size bed after she became an escape artist and could easily climb out of her crib and pack-n-play!
August 2011 – We celebrated my birthday, we spent a lot of time at the park and splash park, we went to the Hands On Museum with Melba and Charlie, and Zoe went to the library and a country fair for the first time.
September 2011 – I stayed home this year as a stay-at-home mom due to some changes within my school district. We went up North again for the holiday weekend. We celebrated Zoe’s 2nd birthday with family and friends, including Zoe’s birth mom and her boyfriend. We celebrated a couple weeks later with her birth grandma and uncles.
October 2011 – We went on a hayride, went pumpkin picking, visited a farm, and got ready for Halloween. I also became a Godmother to my little niece. We took another trip out to New Jersey for the christening and to visit family and friends.
November 2011 – We celebrated Thanksgiving and spent lots of time outside.
December 2011 – We visited Santa, went to a Christmas party, celebrated the holiday, went ice skating, and had another visit from one of my sisters.
Well, it’s 9:45pm on New Year’s Eve. We hope everyone has a happy new year!
If you’re reading this right now and waiting to adopt, I hope that THIS year is your year!

Love this! I did a post pretty similar too. Must be the thing to do this year. :) Happy 2012 to you and your family!
Happy New Year to you!!
I love all your pics! I can't believe how much Zoe has grown this year (I'm sure you're saying the same thing.) :-)
Happy New Year! May 2012 be your best year yet!
Such a good idea-fun to see how much she has changed.
Great pic. How looks smart and cute. Why you not to take ExamSheets for preparing the good pictures?
