I love this blog: Enjoying the Small Things. It’s written by Kelle Hampton and it’s about her life as a mom, writer, and blogger. But it’s so much more. She is a fellow Michigander but lives in Florida now. She takes amazing pictures. She’s creative and inspiring. In addition to her blog, she has written a book called Bloom that comes out in the spring. She writes about her experiences and her family, particularly her daughters, Lainey and Nella. Nella was born with Down Syndrome, and right now they are trying raise money for NDSS, the National Down Syndrome Society. Last year, her readers helped raise over $100,000 for the cause. She’s hoping to reach $200,000 by the time Nella turns 2! If you want to check it out, you can right here: NDSS.
The other reason I am mentioning the blog is because of Hampton’s most recent post. At the very end of it, she asks her readers this:
If you had to focus on one word for 2012, what would it be?
I decided that mine is going to be appreciate. I’m going to look for ways to show my family and friends how much I love and appreciate them, and I’m going to try to appreciate all of the little and wonderful things that happen each day. I want to be more aware of them. So if you had to pick, what would your word be and why?

That's one of my favorite blogs!!!! My word for the year is "intentional." I want to live my life with purpose instead of going through the motions. It's been helpful so far this year.
"Appreciate" is definitely a word we could all incorporate more :) Good choice!
My word is mindful. I want to think before every action and reaction in my daily life, and how it affects those around me including myself. I want to be more mindful of how fragile life is, how blessed we are as a new family of 3, and how lucky we are to be parents and have wonderful parents who continue to age.
