Thanks for reading Our Story

I can't believe that 5 weeks have already gone by since we brought Zoe home from the hospital. Wow. We're doing pretty well. Steve and I take turns getting up with her through the night. That's the hardest thing, I think. The getting up throughout the night part. I don't mind doing it; it's just hard when you've never been on that type of schedule (or lack of a schedule) before. But we're a good team, and it's been pretty good. Usually Steve would be up with her right now, but I wasn't feeling too tired, so he decided to go to bed early. He'll get up with her the next time - maybe 3 or 4 a.m.

This isn't related to getting up throughout the night or lack of sleep, but I wanted to say...

I feel really lucky to have 'met' so many wonderful and supportive people online. I have a great family and wonderful friends who have been there for us. It's been nice to know that I have an online community of friends as well. Seeing your comments and seeing that you check in on us really means a lot to me. I just want you all to know that writing this blog and having others read what I write really helps. It helped me share the hard times back when we were going through them, and it helped me share the hope I felt once again with adopting. Now it helps me share the joy I see when I see our daughter. It also helps me remember what it took for us to get here and to never take anything for granted.

*************************************************************************************

I have been a little slow with uploading some of my pictures, due to technical difficulties! This was a picture of us on October 16th over at my sister's house.

And finally, the polar bear herself! She managed to sleep through the entire cider mill, pumpkin patch, and Zoo Boo experience! She was very brave in the haunted reptile house and the amphibian fun house. Very brave.

So adorable!

I know the online communtiy...blogging friends and forums were such a great support system while we were in the process of adoption.

Zoe is absolutely beautiful...another great header picture too!

Thanks for sharing your story. I'm so glad I "met" you through the blogs. I've learned so much from you and others that I follow. It's been wonderful to see your story unfold. It gives me so much hope.

We both grew up here. As I said we're not far from Swarthmore, but we were looking in Wallingford for homes (great school district and more affordable taxes than Swarthmore). I used to work over the CB bridge in Bridgeport years ago. That is too funny! So you have a good idea of where I'm from. Small world. That's great that you live close to your family (however, I wish you were still here! lol That would be fun.)

Just curious...where was Steve from in NJ?

Isn't it amazing to look back at all you've been through? I remember emailing back and forth with you months ago and you shared your story with me, and I was going through a similar situation. I remember wanting to get pregnant so badly, and really hoping that I wouldn't have to "resort" to adopting. Oh, how times have changed. Now that I'm fully involved in the adoption process, I couldn't imagine doing it any other way. This feels right and my heart is at so much peace. Things truly work out the way they are supposed to. :-D

I'm so happy to have "met" you as well. :-D

She is beautiful! Everyone looks so happy.
I want to thank you for sharing your story with us. I know I've said this before but finding your blog encouraged me to start writing mine. So, because of you, I was able to find all of the support that you mentioned. Thank God for technology and the internet! :)

OMG, he's from 'right over the bridge'. If you noticed when you lived here, everything in Jersey is 'right over the bridge' lol. Well if his family still lives in the CH area and you ever go to visit, you should let me know! We could meet up. CH is not far. I don't blame your hubbs for missing the food...even though it's not the healthiest place to live because of the food!

Yes, let me know when/if you plan a trip to NJ. It would be great to meet. However, (hopefully) we'll be on our way to get our baby just after the holidays. If that's when you're planning on going to NJ, it might not work out but still let me know!

It goes by SO fast! FYI: After week 6 you'll feel like a new woman!!!!! I swear I was in survival mode for 6 weeks straight and then all the sudden Ty's demands changed and I started sleeping a lot more! :)

I love the bear picture with the Etsy stickers! She is just too cute and what a great way for Z to see how she is growing.

I'm not sure how people survived IF before blogging. (-; Just finding people who "get it" without question or explanation is beyond words.

What a great family picture!

I've enjoyed following your journey, and I'll continue to do so! It's so inspirational to me to see how people have gone from sorrow due to infertility to joy and fulfilment when they adopt! I can't wait to experience that myself!
