I know my last post and this post will probably make it seem like all I do is travel, but it's really not true! We occasionally go out-of-state to visit family or take a day trip, but it's rare that we go on actual vacations. Two in one summer is a record for me.
Steve and I went on our trip to Las Vegas last week. (I had won the 50-50 raffle at a fundraiser and we decided to put the money towards a vacation...) We were gone from July 1st to July 5th. What a great trip! It was so much fun. We treated each other to a show for our birthday gifts to each other. We went to see the Stone Temple Pilots concert at the Hard Rock, the Kathy Griffin show at Mandalay Bay, and the Cirque de Soleil Beatles show "Love" at the Mirage. (That last show came with our travel package.) All 3 shows were so good. We also walked around A LOT and checked out the different casinos. We didn't really gamble much - I spent a whopping $11 on a slot machine!
We were there over the 4th of July so we got to see fireworks on the Las Vegas strip. We went up in the Stratosphere for an aerial view of Vegas. We had fried oreos in Old Vegas!
The best part was just relaxing by the pool and swimming. It was so nice to be outside and just read and have fun. If you can believe it, it was 107 degrees there the day we left!
What a great trip -- I'm so glad we went and spent such a great time together. Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the summer brings...

Niiiice. Looks like a good time. I've never been...in all reality I'm scared to go (too much of a gambling loser). Thanks for sharing the pics.
What a fun vacation! You guys totally deserve it. That swimming pool looks delicious. I heard that LOVE was a great show. Can't wait to see it.
:) I am too afraid of losing money with gambling, too! Maybe if I started to win I would feel different...
There's so much to do there, though, besides gambling. There is no way that you could be bored there, that's for sure. Just sightseeing alone is so much fun!
Sandy - LOVE was fantastic! I can't even describe it -- music, the sets, the acrobatics, the dancing - it was so good. The swimming pool was so great -- it seems like I never get to go in one until I go on vacation somewhere, so I enjoy it even more!
Sounds like you two had a great time! I love STP! I bet it was a great show! Sounds like the weather was perfect for being pool-side. Sounds like it wasn't a vacation though...it was a baby-moon. :)
Erica
You lucky girl! That Vegas trip sound sawesome. You saw STP, Kathy Griffin and Love? How fun!
how fun! i'm headed there this weekend for my sister's bachelorette party! :) it's actually going to be "cooler" there than here while I'm gone.....supposed to be 116 here on sat and only 107 in vegas! haha! :)
glad you had such a wonderful time! i would love to see "Love" ~ so many people have said how amazing it is! :)
Great pictures! Isn't Vegas fun?!?!
Looks like a great time. Glad you are enjoying your summer. :-D
So glad you had such a great time. I love all your photos and now think I need to talk M into going for the LOVE show. He is huge Beatles fan. (-;
Did you do any of the rides at the Stratosphere? We went on Big Shot (the one that shoots you up in the air) and I was completely terrified before, during, and after...
No way! No rides at the stratosphere - I was a BIG chicken that day! I was getting dizzy looking at the one ride from inside the stratosphere - forget actually getting on it and riding it!
You are VERY brave, B!!!
Looks like a great trip! Glad you had a good time. What great shows you went to...I so wanted to see 'Love' when I was there in March for work, but the ticket prices were too much at the time. It's good it was part of your package. We're hoping to go to Vegas in January:)
We seem to go on trips to the same destinations! lol Chicago, Vegas...
E...sounds like we have good taste in trips! (;
Looks like you guys had a ton of fun.
I know it's hard for people to believe this but Las Vegas is really relaxing. For some reason those pools just send out a calm vibe while you laying in front of it.
I'm not a gambler. If I'm going to lose money it's because I'm gonna gain something materialistic!
Awesome pics Wendy, looks like so much fun!!! I'm also afraid to gamble...I'd rather waste my money on shoes and purses! lol!
I'm glad you guys had a nice time!
