It's really starting to hit me...

I haven't been able to get to sleep, so I thought I would come on here and write a new post. Things are starting to feel pretty real -- it's hitting me that we're going to be parents very very soon. We went and looked at gliders tonight. My parents told us they want to get us one, so we've been looking around. I think we found one that we like. It's sort of surreal. I was sitting in the chair in Babies R Us and picturing myself holding our little baby. I've pictured us with our baby before this, but this time was different. This time feels more real.

I guess it's kind of a transition. The past three years were filled with waiting and hoping and then let downs and then back to waiting and hoping. Right now it's nice just to feel up. Just to feel happy. It's nice to feel hopeful again.

We are so happy for you...that you are experiencing joy. And it's only going to get better. And once the baby is here, you'll think "it doesn't get any better..." but then each day, somehow it does!!!

Praying for you!

And you deserve every moment of hope and peace you feel....this has been a long time coming!

Having a glider is great, I especially love ours in the middle of the night when I'm so tired I can barely see straight.

I am so happy for you and can't wait to see your story unfold!

Hugs,

Melba

Get some sleep now, you won't be getting any for awhile once the baby arrives!!

You guys deserve this, plus more. You will continue to be in my prayers!

I didn't sleep for weeks leading up to Ty. I felt it was God's way of preparing me for sleepless nights!!

Even after 8 weeks, I look at Ty and remember all the times I dreamed what it would be like to hold my baby....The surreal still hasn't worn off!

Thanks for the link to the coupons, Anon! I actually got those in an email yesterday, so I had my eye on the 20% off gliders one already! Thank you for thinking of me. :)

Thanks so much, Amy, Bella, RB, Infertility is Hard, Melba, and Rebekah, and Jennie -- thanks for checking in on me and for leaving all of your comments. I wish I could sleep -- I don't think I've had a good night's rest since we found out we were chosen! We're both anxious and excited. My mind just seems to keep going at night and I can't relax. Plus Steve's been sick and that's had us both not sleeping well. Oh well...

I'm going to write another post at some point, but we got a glider today! Very exciting! We were able to use a 20% coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond at one of our local Babies R Us stores. They are taking them since they are right next to a BBB. I'll try to post a picture of it soon!

I know exactly what you mean! The case worker was telling kind of talking to me and "reminding" me that things are not certain until the papers are signed and I told her we knew that...but we just wanted to enjoy this for what it is. Sometimes, it's just nice to enjoy something for the sake of enjoying it. After all the stress of adoption, these moments are nice.

Wendy,

I can already see you and Steve rocking your Baby in that new glider. Of course, Dad and I are hoping for a turn too.

I loved our shopping trip today!

Love, Mom

Oh how I remember the sleepless nights before we brought our daughter home. I agree with Rebekah, it's God's way of preparing you for mommyhood :)

I remember those days. Being so excited about becoming a mommy---finally. But also being nerous and aprehensive about the bmom changing her mind. Allow yourself this time to get excited, to be joyous.

Gliders are great. We love ours.

God is great and He has a plan. Relax and continue to have faith.
