We're down to 8 days until the baby's due date. Wow - in some ways the past couple weeks have felt so slow, but in other ways it feels like it's zooming by. Does that make any sense?
I have been back at work. The students started this week, so it's been busy. It's also been very hard to focus on work-related things! I'm really glad that I took a lot of time in early and mid-August to prepare for my substitutes. It made it a lot easier during this past week. Everything is ready, though, so whenever the baby comes, the sub will have what she needs to start.
There certainly is a lot of waiting with adoption, isn't there? The closer it gets to the due date, the harder it seems to wait. I have been busy with work and things at home, but it's not enough to take my mind off things, that's for sure. I've been thinking a lot about how the birthmom may be feeling right now and how this must be so hard. We still email each other often - I'm so happy when we get an email from her.
So that's where things are right now. We don't have anything specific planned this weekend, so I think I'm just going to try to organize some things around the house a bit more. I might try to work in our garden, too. And I'll be trying not to be so jumpy every time the phone rings! :)

Oh Wendy, I am so excited for you. I can't even imagine how you're feeling right now....8 days?!?! Yayy!!
I'm sorry that the plan has changed a bit, which I'm sure was disappointing. It's good that you're understanding of her feelings and how she wants things to happen. It's nice that you have regular contact with her. Great idea about printing out the emails!
Let the nesting continue!
8 days will fly by! I am so excited for you. Don't be worried about the change of plans at the hospital. It's so hard to put yourself into Z's shoes. We know that thanks to going through infertility. I love the idea about printing out the emails.
I can't wait for you to get that phone call either!
8 days, WOW and you will be a mom! Sorry that plans changed for the hospital. School will keep you busy till you get that wonderful phone call. woohoo!!!!
This next week will fly by. You will be in my prayers.
I remember the last week waiting for S to go into labor was torture.
Can't wait to hear the next update!
Wendy,
Wow 8 days to the EDD super exciting!! I am praying for y'all. Sorry plans changed but this time will fly by :)
A week and a day and your life could change forever! That's amazing! I hope the time feels like it flies. I'll be thinking of you this week and checking in for an update. It might help me keep my mind occupied until we meet our little guy on the 22nd. Since our guy turned one last week, it looks like you and I will both have September babies!
I am so freaking excited for you, Wendy. Every day I think, "I wonder if today is the day."
I'm sorry things have shifted, but I love how open and understanding you are with this ever-changing process. You will get there!!!
I will be checking your blog and the boards constantly this week, looking for updates! You and Steve and Z will be in my thoughts and prayers!!!!!!!
yay! :)
yes.....there certainly was a lot of "waiting" going on for us. :) everything felt like "hurry up and wait!" :) i'm sorry about the change in plans....that had to be disappointing. I'm glad you were pre-informed about the change in plans though instead of finding out the day of delivery. That's going to be a stressful enough day as it is! :)
sooo excited for you! :)
Wow! Eight more days! I can't believe it! SO excited!!
I know it must have been kind of hard to have the change of plans at the last minute about the delivery. But it's good that you are being flexible and understanding. Being flexible is the key.
There's always plenty to do to keep us busy, right! LOL In less than a week, you won't have to look for things to keep you buys. :)

Wow!! Only 8 more days. I am excited for you.
I find it awesome that you are thinking of how Z might be feeling.
Thinking of you Wendy. Before you know it, you will have a baby at home. :-D
Wow...I'm sure you're counting down the hours!! I'm so excited for you and your husband...and the build-a-bear thing...GREAT idea!! And the e-mails...awesome! Can't wait to hear the good news!!
We have been keeping the emails from Kali's birthmom. In fact, we have a different email where she emails us and I save everything online as a backup.
