They called us about the eggs around 1pm or so. The nurse said that of the 5 they retrieved, only 3 were mature, and only 1 fertilized. We are pretty upset, as you can imagine. I'm holding onto hope, though, that this little one is a fighter.
Looks like I'll probably be back in on Tuesday for a 3 day transfer. She said one of her patients who had the exact same thing happen just delivered a little girl. So at least it's possible that it could still work.

I'm so sorry to hear that. You have to keep up hope - that embryo could be the one that makes it all happen. Did they give you a reason for the low egg count at retrieval? It seemed like you were really responding well to the stims based on your follicle sizes.
I'll keep praying for you - keep us posted!
I'm sorry, Wendy. I know you are disappointed, but I am totally on board with you about this one being a fighter. It really only does take one and it can and does happen.
Here is a blog that I followed during IVF#1. They also only had one embryo which they named Uno. She is now in her 2nd trimester.

Hang in there, hun and keep holding that hope. I have alot of it for you and your extra special embryo!!
Wendy, I am praying for you. I agree that you should hold onto hope! If you remember, out of my 5 eggs - there was 1 proven normal egg. So you're right on target with that one being a good one. I know we wish it was more, but it only takes one!
I too wanna know what they say about the empty follicles - as I suffer with that too.
And also, I hope that healing from the ER goes quickly so there's nothing uncomfortable for you on Tuesday ... here we go!
